Called & Gifted is a 3-step process of learning, discovering, and discernment.

Part One is the Called & Gifted Workshop (offered here at ND on Nov. 8, 2025), which will lay the foundation for discernment by introducing Church teaching on charisms. This part also includes each participant taking the Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory(completed ahead of the workshop). Through the workshop, participants will explore:

• The unique role of each Catholic—and the local parish—in the Church’s mission to the world.
• Why charisms are essential in helping laypeople serve others and build vibrant Christian communities.
• The signs and characteristics of 24 common charisms.
• How discovering and using your charisms can transform your life, your parish, and the world around you.

As part of the workshop, participants gain lifetime access to the Called & Gifted course, available online at the Catherine of Siena Institute website. Participants also receive the Complete Resource Guide for the Called & Gifted Discernment Process.

Part Two is a virtual one-hour Gifts Interview with a Catherine of Siena Institute Facilitator, an invaluable part of the process. In this conversation, the interviewers can help participants:

• Reflect on your inventory results.
• Listen to your experiences of how God may already be working through you.
• Recognize patterns in your life that may indicate the presence of a charism.
• Choose one charism to begin discerning.
• Identify concrete ways to "experiment" with that gift in your daily life.
• Answer your personal questions about specific charisms or discernment.

Workshop participants will receive the opportunity to purchase the interview for $35 versus the standard $50.

Part Three helps participants begin an In-Depth Discernmentin the real world. On his/her own, or in a small group led by a trained team at your parish/diocese, participants will choose one charism to “experiment with” in real life — ideally two hours a week for 6–8 weeks — and pay attention to what God does through it. It will teach how to:

• Develop charism experiments
• Evaluate one's results
• Identify ways you learned to control life as a child that get in the way of using your charisms as an adult.
