About Shepherd's Call...
As part of our commitment to nurturing the faith journeys of all parish members, Shepherd's
Call serves the youngest members of our flock and their families.
Shepherd's Call supports families with young children (ages 12 months to 4 years) by providing loving, faith-based care during the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass* in a safe, appropriate environment. Through an early childhood faith curriculum and a nurturing setting, the ministry helps introduce young children to their faith while allowing parents to participate more fully in Mass and grow closer to Jesus. Advance Registration to participate in Shepherd's Call will be required to ensure sufficient ministers are available to serve the little ones each Sunday.
Nurturing our Shepherd's Call Flock...
An age-appropriate curriculum and other early childhood development resources are in place to make this time an opportunity for our little ones to strengthen this early stage of their faith journey.
Shepherd's Call Faith Leaders...
Faith Leaders/Caregivers serving in our Shepherd's Call ministry are kind, caring, and faithful adult parishioners with Early Childhood Education experience and/or extensive experience caring for little ones. They are required to meet safety and diocesan guidelines (VIRTUS/ Protecting Gods' Children) and are trained in the curriculum that is in place to nurture our young participants.
Selected parish teens are also trained to serve in the ministry and are always under the guidance of adult faith leaders when they offer their service. They share their time and joyful spirits; the little ones love having them around!
We aim to maintain a ministry roster of enough Faith Leaders so that each member (or team) would be assigned to serve about once every four to six weeks.
