Is This for You?

Are you looking to go deeper with God and in relationship with others? Would you like to make God a priority in your life? Would you like to live more like Jesus every day?
While there is a place for listening to sermons, sitting in a class, participating in a fellowship group, or attending a study group in the workplace, discipleship occurs through relationships.
This isn't a coffee club, or another Bible study. It's a place filled with love and trust, not comparison or judgment. Yes, it is one more thing to do every week, but just imagine how it could change the other hundreds of things you have to do every week.
Though he had twelve apostles, Jesus chose Peter, James and John to form a closer inner circle, the first-ever quad! Is something calling you to form a quad? Great! Keep reading!

Discipling is not a program, but a relationship

In October of 2021, four parishioners (L to R: Dan Balogh, Pat Madden, Ed Katona, Matt Cooney) embarked on the parish's maiden quad voyage, meeting every week for a year. They ended in October of 2022. It was a transformational experience for them. You can see their four video testimonies below.

In January of 2022, four more parishioners (L to R: Barb Katona, Yvonne Orchison-Yip, Kathy Bogwald, Patty Migliore-Torres) began the first women's quad, which completed a little over a year later.

In December of 2022, Dan formed his second quad, this time breaking the rules by starting one with three other women, the awesome members of his Alpha @ Home team (L to R: Diana Thomas, Maureen Crystal, Dan, Helen Krisiewicz). The journey was as spiritually fulfilling as the first one!

In early 2023, Pat Madden started his second quad (L to R: Joe Orecchio, Phil Lamoreux, Dan Bozza, Pat Madden). They took a little over a year to complete their spiritual journey.

A second women's quad was formed by Patty Alloca in September of 2023 (L to R: Kathy Effner, Rita McCleary, Patty, Lorena Lalicatta), and the participants are finding it so inspirational they continue to savor every moment of it.
Patty says "I highly recommend the Discipleship Quad experience to everyone of all ages. You will be amazed at how valuable this experience is on all levels!"

Finally, in August of 2024, a third women's quad was formed by Debby Kispert (front, L to R: Debby, Carol Thompson, Karen Soto; on monitor: Monica Orecchio).
Despite the fact that Monica moved to Florida months before they were able to complete their journey, the quad persevered, continuing their sessions by Zooming her in! According to Debby, the experience was so enriching that all four are now looking to form their second quad. Will you respond to their invitation?

How Does it Work?

Four men, or four women, commit to take a one-year spiritual journey together, spending 90 minutes a week, in prayer, fellowship and scriptural study, with the ultimate goal of helping each other become better disciples of Jesus. The facilitator role rotates between participants during the year.
Please note: While the parish facilities may be able to accommodate Quad meetings on occasion, a Quad journey is intended to take place in the participants' homes or other spaces "beyond the walls of our parish." This is part of nurturing the mindset that we are not limited to church space to grow in our journey with the Lord and that our goal is to ultimately "Go out" on our missionary journey.
We use a curriculum created by Deacon Bob Rice of the Franciscan University of Steubenville. The lessons are wide-ranging, and focus on building in us the seven charactistics of a disciple:
- Identity
- Prayer
- Sacraments
- Obedience
- Community
- Service
- Sharing
