Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) assist priests and deacons with the distribution of the Holy Communion at Mass and to the sick and homebound. By distributing Holy Communion —at Mass, in a hospital, or at a residence—the Extraordinary Minister communicates the Father’s great love for us through the Body of Christ. What greater gift could one human provide to another?

Membership
Our Parish considers for membership to this extraordinary ministry an individual who meets the following qualifications:
- Is a registered parishioner.
- Is a practicing Catholic and a positive witness to the Christian way of life.
- Has received the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.
- Attends Sunday Mass regularly.
- If married, within a wedding bond that is recognized in the Roman Catholic Church.

Commitments
Parishioners accepting an invitation to join the ministry make the following commitments:
- Attend an initial training session.
- Attend 2 ministry meetings per year, which are held to review processes and procedures, address any issues that may arise, and nurture and strengthen the faith and spirituality of ministry members.
- Become knowledgeable about current ministry Processes & Procedures and fully abide by them to the best of one's ability.
- Review the published Assignment Schedules and fulfill those assignments, or make arrangements in advance for an adequate substitution when unable to meet a particular scheduled assignment.
- Timely communication to ministry chairpeople of any changes in contact information and/or serving availability.
- Ensure that the manner of dress and actions consistently show reverence for the sacredness and the privilege of this liturgical ministry.

We ask our Extraordinary Ministers to consider serving in this special ministry that brings Christ in the Eucharist and shares faith with parish members unable to attend the liturgy. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Jack Vales at [email protected] .

"This morning, my son and I had a great visit with one of our homebound parishioners who is a longtime member with a great sense of humor and a wonderful spirit. We delivered communion, reflected on this week’s readings, and prayed together. As an Outreach EM, I see him often and enjoy each and every visit, feeling blessed to deliver the body of our Lord to him.”
